SPECIAL MEETING
OCTOBER 29, 2020
The Cameron Parish Police Jury met in special session on Thursday, October 29, 2020 in the Grand Lake Conference Center in the Village of Grand Lake, Louisiana at 5:00 P.M. The following members were present: Mr. Kirk Quinn, Mr. Joe Dupont, Mr. Scott Trahan, Mr. Magnus McGee, and Mr. McKinley Guidry. The following members were absent: Mr. Curtis Fountain, Mr. Thomas McDaniel, and Mr. Lawrence Faulk.
It was moved by Mr. Quinn, seconded by Mr. Guidry, and carried the following resolution be duly declared and adopted:
RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION NO. 1128
STATE OF LOUISIANA
PARISH OF CAMERON
A RESOLUTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL THE ANTICIPATED VACANCY FULL TERM FOR CAMERON PARISH TAX ASSESSOR
WHEREAS, Mr. Darrell Williams, passed away on October 19, 2020, and although he had not yet been sworn in, he was elected the Cameron Parish Tax Assessor on October 12, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to R.S. 18:602, the Cameron Parish Police Jury, the governing authority of Cameron Parish, shall call a special election to fill the full term of the Cameron Parish Tax Assessor; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ROSOLVED, that the Cameron Police Jury does hereby call a special election for Cameron Parish Tax Assessor to fill the full term, with the election to be held on March 20, 2021, primary and April 24, 2020 general with qualifying dates January 20, 21 and 22, 2021 and furthermore copies of this resolution shall be sent to by certified or registered mail to the Cameron Parish Clerk of Court and to the Secretary of State of the State of Louisiana.
The foregoing resolution was read in full, and the
resolution was adopted by the
following votes:
YEAS: Kirk Quinn, Joe Dupont, Scott Trahan, Magnus McGee, and McKinley Guidry
NAYS: None
ABSTAINED: None
ABSENT: Thomas McDaniel, Lawrence Faulk and Curtis Fountain
THEREUPON, the above resolution was duly adopted and approved this 29th day of October, 2020.
