PROCEEDINGS
April 19, 2021
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 11 at 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 19, 2021, at the Grand Lake Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Carl Granger, Grace Robideaux, Jerome Verzwyvelt
ABSENT: Wayne Hebert
The meeting was called to order by Board President Carl Granger.
On motion of Grace Robideaux, seconded by Jerome Verzwyvelt and carried unanimously, the minutes from the March 15, 2021 regular meeting were approved as previously mailed out.
The president stated that the purpose of the meeting was for canvassing and tabulating the returns of an election held in Waterworks District No. 11 of the Parish of Cameron, Louisiana (the “District”) on March 20, 2021, on the question of authorizing renewal of an ad valorem tax on all taxable property within the District, and thereupon presented the following proces verbal, which was adopted by the following vote:

BE IT KNOWN AND REMEMBERED that on this 19th day of April, 2021, at 6:00 o’clock p.m., in accordance with a resolution of the Board of Commissioners (“the Board”) serving as governing authority of the district, adopted on October 16, 2020, and recorded in the records of said “Board”, notice of which meeting was issued and published according to law, the undersigned members of the Board, being a quorum thereof, met at the regular meeting place of the Board, and according to law examined the tabulation blanks, certificates and statements which were received from the Commissioners and the Commissioners-in-Charge of the election held in the District, on March 20, 2021, in accordance with said resolution, together with the transcription of the totals made by the Clerk of Court and Ex-Officio Parish Custodian of Voting Machines in and for Cameron Parish to determine the following proposition:

RENEWAL PROPOSITION
Shall Waterworks District No. 11 of the Parish of Cameron, Louisiana, be authorized to renew levy of a tax of five and seventy hundredths (5.70) mills on the dollar of assessed valuation on all property subject to taxation in said District (an estimate $212,062.71 reasonably expected to be collected from the levy of this tax per annum) for a period of ten (10) years, commencing with the year 2022, for the purpose of operating and maintaining said District’s water systems and for said District?
The results of said election proved to be as follows:

We therefore ascertained that the majority of qualified electors of the District vote under the Constitution and laws of the State of Louisiana voting in said election in the District voted in favor of the Proposition.
At the same time and place, we did examine and canvass the returns as evidenced by said tabulation blanks, certificates, and statements received from the election Commissioners and Commissioners-in-Charge, the correctness of which were sworn to by the election Commissioners-in-Charge and Commissioners according to law, and our finding was that the returns indicated a majority voted in favor of the Proposition.
Therefore, we declare that the result of said election is in favor of the Proposition as stated above.
In accordance with law, a resolution promulgating the aforesaid results was adopted, and the Secretary of the Board was ordered to have a copy of said resolution signed by the President and published in one issue of the Cameron Pilot, a newspaper published in DeQuincy, Louisiana, and of general circulation in said District, and the official journal of the District.
We did, likewise, order that one copy of this process verbal be sent to the Secretary of State to be recorded in the Archives of the State of Louisiana, and that one copy be sent to the Clerk of the District Court of Cameron Parish to be recorded in the mortgage records of said Parish and that one copy be filed in the archives of this Board.
There was a financial report given for the month ending March 31, 2021 by Helen Williams.
On motion of Jerome Verzwyvelt, seconded by Grace Robideaux and carried unanimously the financial statements which reflect the budget comparison were accepted as presented.
The Superintendent’s Report was presented by Jacob Nunez.
On motion of Grace Robideaux, seconded by Jerome Verzwyvelt, and carried unanimously, all bills were approved for payment.
There being no further business, on motion of Jerome Verzwyvelt, seconded by Grace Robideaux and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
