PROCEEDINGS
May 12, 2021
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Mark Trahan, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Brad Hinton, Mr. Mike Welch
ABSENT: None
Employees present: Mr. Michael Morales and Mrs. Shaun Kyle
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer. Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the minutes from the April 14, 2021 meeting were approved.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, the board elected to adopt the Tax Millage Rate of 5.00 mills for the 2021 tax year.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, the board elected to advertise for sealed bids on surplus items and to be opened at the next board meeting.
The board decided to table the new storage building at wellsite #3 until more information is received on land availability.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the policy on Criminal Damage to Waterworks Property was adopted as written by the District Attorney.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, funds from the Enterprise account will be used along with interest earned from the CD investments to create a 4th CD of equal amount when the other 3 reach maturity in July. Then all 4 CDs will be invested in 6 month maturity intervals.
Monthly Superintendent updates were presented by Michael Morales.
The Financial Report for the month ending April 30, 2021 and updates were presented by Shaun Kyle.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, all bills were approved for payment.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
There being no further business, on motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford, and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
