Jimmie Lee Dyson, Sr., 74, a resident of Lake Charles, and former resident of Cameron Parish, passed from this life on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, in the comfort of his home. Jimmie was born to the union of Clarence Dyson, Sr. and Ludie Fairchild Dyson on June 16, 1952, in Cameron.

Jimmie will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a commercial fisherman and shrimper all of his life. Mr. Dyson loved being on the water and being outdoors. His family was the center of his world. He was a devoted and fiercely loyal friend. He loved classic country music and watching westerns, especially those starring John Wayne.

He is survived by Nora Dyson, Rodney Bush and his wife Laurie, Jimmy Dyson, Jr., and his wife Bibby, and Emanuel Miller, his loving grandchildren, Brittany Jordan, Ryan Jordan, Kimberly Jordan, Katelynn Dyson, Haleigh Dyson, Christopher Bush, Thomas Bush, Matthew Bush, Michael Bush, and Cameron Bush, numerous great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, his siblings, Leo Dyson, Joseph Dyson, Marilyn Elizondo, Shirley Wilson, Debra Dasinger, Phillip Dyson Susie Eastman, Lerlene Rodrigue, Darlene Dyson and countless nieces and nephews.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Ada Lorraine Dyson; his granddaughter, Kylie Dyson; his parents, Clarence and Ludie Fairchild Dyson; and his three siblings, Annie Trahan, Clarence Dyson, Jr., and James Dyson.

The family received friends on Monday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. Burial followed in Sweetlake-Grand Lake Cemetery.
