Jeremy Wayne Furs, 45 passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024. He was born Sept. 11, 1979 to Jerry and Sharon Furs in Lake Charles.

Jeremy was a lifelong resident of Cameron Parish where he graduated from South Cameron High School in 1997 as a Valedictorian. He also attended and graduated from McNeese State University in 2006. Jeremy was a avid gun collector, huge fan of the Houston Astros and loved to eat boiled crawfish. He loved his family and cherished each and every one of them.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Sharon Furs; siblings,Travis Furs and wife Catherine, Lisa Ledano and husband Owens, and Thomas Johnson III; nieces, Kristyn Saltzman and husband Blake, Mallory Dupuie, Sophie Furs and Blair Furs; nephews, Grant Johnson, Garrett Johnson and Graham Furs; and a great niece, Berklee Saltzman.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wayne Furs; paternal grandmother, Fabiola Miller Dupont; paternal grandfather, Henry Furs; maternal grandmother, Lou Anna Young Hebert; maternal grandfather, Francis Ambrose Savoie

The family welcomed relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Wednesday, Dec. 18, beginning at 5 until 8 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 8 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Creole. The Msgr. Harry Greig will officiate at the services.
