He was born in the small town of Kermit Texas on Aug. 28, 1957 to Florence and J Dickey.

In 1997, Jay married his current wife Ginger Sue Dickey after meeting in Sturgis S. D. They both shared a love for riding Harleys and seeing the country.

Jay was an original in the oil and gas industry, where he met and impacted so many peoples lives during his career. He was extremely passionate about his work and could not give it up if he tried.

He loved to hunt, fish, drive fast, and shoot whenever he could, and in his more recent years you could find him trying to tie a fly on the end of his line anytime the opportunity presented, or tinkering with one of his many projects he always had going on.

His big heart and presence were felt by anyone that had the opportunity to meet him!

Jay was preceded in death by his parents and yellow lab, J and Florence Dickey and Preacher Boy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Ginger S Dickey; children, Sasha (Seth) Fontenot and Jeremy (Sarah) Dickey; siblings, Carolyn Travis, Robbie Meredith, and Bobby Dickey. Grandchildren; Baylee Thomas, Brayden Thomas, Brenton Spell, Kaitlyn Fontenot, Lily Potratz and Jeremiah Dickey; and great-granddaughter, Emberly Pike.

His celebration of life will be announced at a later time and date via social media or personal invitations.
