Grand Lake Crushes Welsh

The Grand Lake Hornets went down to Greyhound country and made one heck of a statement by handing the Welsh Greyhounds an 18-2 whooping this past Tuesday in District 5-2A action.

This was most likely the best performance by the Hornets all season which is a good thing as the playoffs are nearing.

Tanner Beniot went 4-6 with 2 RBIs, Law Faulk went 3-6 with 2 RBIs, Rylan Young went 2-4 with an RBI, Wyatt Wilkerson went 3-3 with 2 RBIs, Grayson Daigle went 1-3 with an RBI, Grayson Verzwyvelt went 0-3 but scored 3 RBIs, Wyatt Istre went 1-4 with 2 RBIs, Kaden Taylor went 1-3 with 2 RBI’s, and Gage Bang went 1-3 with an RBI.

Hornets Fall to DeQuincy

This past Saturday the Grand Lake Hornets traveled to DeQuincy for their district finale. The Hornets went into the game with a lot of confidence after beating Welsh the night before. They were hoping to do the same thing to the DeQuincy Tigers but unfortunately that was not the case.

Tanner Beniot went 1-3, Law Faulk went 1-3 with an RBI, Rylan Young went 1-3, Cass Verzwyvelt went 1-2, and Wyatt Istre went 1-2.

The playoffs brackets will be released on Tuesday. The Hornets are trying to sting their way into a top 16 seed to host a first round playoff game.

Geaux Hornets!
