It’s been quite a few years since the Grand Lake Hornets and Oak Grove Tigers squared off on the baseball diamond. In fact the last time these two teams faced each other was in the 2023 quarterfinals in Oak Grove as the Tigers took a 4-1 win. Now fast forward to 2026 and the tables have turned as the Hornets hosted the Tigers in the regional round and took down the five time defending state champions by a final score of 3-0 which is Oak Grove’s first playoff loss since 2019 and their first time being shut out in the playoffs since 2012. So one could imagine just fired up these Grand Lake Hornets are after a huge victory over a very good opponent!

The Hornets will now turn their focus on the Oakdale Warriors, as these two teams will face off Thursday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m. in Oakdale.

We encourage the community to make the trip to Oakdale and support the Hornets as they continue their quest for a state championship!
