Hackberry Elementary

Dawn Kreider has been named Hackberry Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Kreider has been a resident of Louisiana for 14 years. She is originally from Maryland. She fell in love with working with children after volunteering at her son’s elementary school and pursued a teaching degree from McNeese State University. She worked as a Head Start teacher in Calcasieu Parish for nine years before coming to Cameron Parish. Currently, she is the first grade teacher at Hackberry High School.

Kreider loves working with her students and families.

Rachel Lancon has been named Hackberry High School Teacher of the Year.

Lancon graduated from McNeese in 1988 in English Education. She is married to Paul Lancon and they have two children. She loves teaching. This is her 31st year and she loves teaching in Hackberry.
