For twenty consecutive years, Cameron LNG, with support from Sempra Infrastructure, has shown its commitment to the community by bringing the spirit of Christmas to its nearest neighbors. Since 2004, the Hackberry Holiday Festival has become the official kick-off of the holiday season and has endured hurricanes and the pandemic.
“The community of Hackberry is blessed to have Cameron LNG and Sempra Infrastructure host the holiday festival annually,” said Paulette Campbell, vice principal at Hackberry High School. “The children love seeing Santa, participating in the activities and cookie decorating. The adults spend quality time with friends and family that they don’t always see in today’s fast paced world. It is a good time had by all.”
The 20th Anniversary Celebration held on Wednesday, Dec. 6, was filled with excitement and joy as nearly 400 residents enjoyed red beans and rice, bingo, holiday crafts, a photo booth, Santa officially lighting the community Christmas tree and a special raffle to raise funds for the Hackberry Angel Tree project. Community partners supporting the event included Targa Resources, Hackberry High School and Sabine State Bank.
Whit Fairbanks, president of Cameron LNG expressed appreciation to the community during his remarks. “We are grateful to this community for the many years of support to our company and employees. We wish you all a Merry Christmas.”
