Gowans “tie the knot” in Cameron during the 2024 Louisiana Fur & Wildlife Festival

For many years the Louisiana Fur & Wildlife Festival has been having a reciprocal delegation exchange of visitors attending the Maryland Outdoor Festival and in turn, a delegation from Cameron Parish attends the festival in Maryland. This year had an interesting development…a wedding!

Tyler Gowan and Jenna Miller decided to “tie the knot” at the 2024 Louisiana Fur & Wildlife Festival. The ceremony was officiated by Sheriff Ron Johnson at the Cameron Courthouse inside the H. Ward Fontenot Courtroom 38th Judicial District on Friday Jan. 12, at 11:30 a.m. with their Grand Chenier friends, Joey and Veronica Trosclair standing in as Best Man and Matron of Honor.

Tyler has been attending the Louisiana Fur & Wildlife Festival for the past eleven years and Jenna has been coming for four years.

Joey has traveled to hunt in South Carolina for about forty years to hunt and perpetuated a longstanding friendship with Tyler’s parents. He has known Tyler since he was a toddler.

When Tyler and Jenna come to Louisiana they stay in Grand Chenier with the Trosclairs. Now, they can tell everyone they got “hitched” at Louisiana’s Oldest & Coldest” Festival.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Gowan!
