Gernice Benoit Conner, 94, of Lake Charles died Wednesday, May 6, 2020 in a local nursing home.

She was raised in Grand Lake. She was a member of Grand Lake Faith Temple.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Conner (Brenda) of Lake Charles; and daughter, Linda LaFleur (John) of Bell City; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Vina Melton of Longville; and four stepbrothers, Nelson Mott, Adras Mott, Murry Mott and Richard Mott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel H. Conner; son, John Allen Conner; parents Joseph and Lula Arabie Benoit; two brothers; two sisters; two stepbrothers and three stepsisters.

In compliance with current state regulations, private services will be held under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
