The Cameron Ferry crossing will be closed until Thursday, Dec. 12. State officials say the closure is necessary for repairs.

Drivers will have to wait until next month to use the Cameron Ferry crossing.

State officials say the Cameron Ferry crossing will be closed until Thursday, Dec. 12 to allow for repairs.

Initially, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced the M/V Acadia ferry was out of service until further notice due to mechanical issues.

At this time, repairs are taking place and being scheduled for the vessel and the landing, said DOTD Public Information Officer John Guidroz.
