Contractors have begun hauling FEMA mobile homes and RVs into Shandy Acres Mobile Home and RV Park (1471 LA 384). After extensive cleanup and repair work, the park recently became ready for FEMA units.

Already several RVs have been installed at the park and work is underway to setup several mobile homes. In the coming days and weeks, FEMA case workers will be handing over the keys to Cameron Parish families and individuals who have been waiting for a unit.

FEMA also has several mobile homes at Hebert Estates Mobile Home & RV Park (130 Donna Road).

Overall, as of Monday, Apr. 19, 78 Cameron Parish households are in FEMA units: 32 in various parks in the region, 28 on their private property, and 18 in in apartments or homes that FEMA has leased as part of its Direct Lease program.
