Faye Vincent

Faye Evelyn Vincent, of Carlyss passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on her 87th birthday.

Faye was born on July 17, 1935, in Hackberry to Oscar “Teca” and Amy Broussard. She was Postmaster in Hackberry from Aug. 2, 1975, until her retirement on Jan. 3, 2012.

Faye was always up for a road trip to sporting events and shopping trips anywhere anytime. Traveling with her family and friends kept her young at heart. Her love of flowers, her faith, her family and friends are truly a testament to the extraordinary full life she lived. Faye never met a stranger. Her contagious laugh, genuine heart and bold personality will be missed by many. She loved her family to the fullest. Her grandkids and great-grandkids were the sunshines of her life.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Burnell Vincent; one daughter, Kelli Fenetz and husband Tony; two grandchildren, Cody Fenetz and wife Niki and Nicole Mays and husband Jared; six great-grandchildren, Conner, Dixie, Jackson, Dani, Clare and Elizabeth; and one brother, Lennie Broussard and wife Susan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Donald “Bubbie” Broussard.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Faye will be held on Friday, July 22, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Father Edward Richard, M.S. officiating. Burial will follow at Hackberry Community Cemetery in Hackberry. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. with a cursillo rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8 a.m. at the funeral home until time to leave for the church.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, MD Anderson and Heart of Hospice for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
