Eliminators win tournament

Four South Cameron young ladies participated in the South Lake Charles Girls 12u League. They helped their team, the Eliminators, finish best in league with a 10-1 record and won the Championship game 18-10 over a very good Grand Lake team.

Eliminators Defeat Grand Lake Despite Allowing 6-Run Inning

Eliminators weathered a push by Grand Lake in the first inning where Eliminators coughed up six runs, but the Eliminators still won 18-10 on Saturday. Grand Lake’s big inning was driven by a walk, a triple, and an error on a ball put in play.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as the Eliminators collected 14 hits and Grand Lake had three.

Grand Lake opened up scoring in the first inning. Player was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

After Grand Lake scored one run in the top of the third, the Eliminators answered with one of their own.

Eliminators pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Hannah doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, BreAnn singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, and Emma homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Emma got the start for the Eliminators. Emma allowed three hits and ten runs over five innings, striking out ten.

The Eliminators socked one home run on the day. Emma had a long ball in the second inning.

The Eliminators tallied 14 hits. Kiley, Hannah, Emma, Rylee, and Adrian each managed multiple hits for Eliminators. Hannah and Kiley each collected three hits to lead Eliminators. The Eliminators tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Rylee led the way with four.

Grand Lake led with two hits in three at bats. Grand Lake stole 16 bases during the game as four stole more than one. Then a player led the way with five.
