Duhon named new postmaster

New Cameron Postmaster Liz Duhon is delivering for America. She is proud to live in the community she serves.

Duhon loves cooking, gardening, playing cards with friends and family, and writing and publishing romance novels. She’s also proud of her position as Cameron Postmaster.

She took over the helm in June. “I live here and love it,” she says of Cameron, a small community with three rural routes. “I started as a rural carrier associate in 2017. That was in Rayne.”

Duhon also served as a postal support employee, retail associate, clerk, acting supervisor, officer-in-charge, and supervisor. “All this in six years with the Postal Service.”

“The favorite thing for me throughout the years is being able to help our loyal customers,” she adds.

“Helping with everyday needs and assisting during COVID with essential items was an honor.”

She holds a Bachelor of Human Resources degree, is an emergency medical technician, and is a licensed practical nurse.

“The Delivering for America plan is an exciting change for the Postal Service to gain updated delivery equipment to meet the customers’ needs and stay competitive with other delivery companies,” she explains. “These updates offer employees a steady, stable career, which is very important to all employees to have peace of mind that the company we work for is planning for our future.”

Duhon is married to Bradley; together, they have 12 children; and 10 grandchildren.
