Dorothy “Dot” Ann Sharp, 78, died in a local hospital on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022.

She attended Iowa High School until her senior year, and moved to Grand Lake with her family, where she graduated from Grand Lake High School. She retired from the Port of Lake Charles. Dot enjoyed gardening, and being with family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Joseph “Joe” Sharp (Rhea), Karen Leone (Lonnie), and Becky Guidry (Joe); brother, Douglas J. Dugas (Barbara), and Debbie Babineaux (Gus Fazzio); 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcide and Mabel Dugas; and one brother.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. A gathering of friends and family begins Saturday, Aug. 13, at Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 12-4 p.m.
