Dimas focuses on infectious disease diagnosis, research

Jonathan Dimas, formerly of Creole/Cameron, left South Cameron High for the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches. After graduating from there, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, St. Joseph’s College Seminary and finally graduated with a BA in Philosophy at the University of New Orleans.

He moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in Nursing and later pursued his PhD in Nursing there. He graduated with honors from the Utah Air National Guard and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve in Utah.

He worked as a flight nurse for the University of Utah Health Care, Huntsman Cancer Hospital and also at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.

At this time, Dimas works for BioFire (a French Lab Firm) and is a Global Medical Affairs Scientist, focused on infectious disease diagnosis and research in Salt Lake. He continues to work part time in the hospital, as he sometimes misses the patient care. Dimas is the son of Valerie and Gary Dimas.
