The Cameron Parish Port Harbor & Terminal District met in regular session on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the Port Board Building, Cameron, Louisiana at 5:00 o’clock PM.
Present: Howard Romero, Tremayne Picou, Kevin Vincent, Thomas Cox, Vince Theriot, Sheila Miller, Brent Morales
Absent: Jimmy Brown, Nathan Griffith, Alfred Devall, Dwight Savoie
Guests: Wendell Wilkerson, Beth Newton- US Coast Guard
Parish Agencies: Kim Montie, Port Director, Tianna Dunaway, Asst. Port Director, Tom Barrett- District Attorney, Chelsea Champagne- Assistant District Attorney
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Howard Romero.
Tremayne Picou led the Pledge of Allegiance and Thomas Cox gave the invocation.
There was no public comment.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Cox and carried the board approved the August 29, 2023 regular meeting minutes.
On the motion of Mr. Picou seconded by Mrs. Miller and carried the board approved the treasurer’s report.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried the board approved payment of the September 2023 bills.
The Board reviewed the actuals and the budget.
Under correspondence Mrs. Montie discussed with the board the signed Emergency Use Authorization regarding the emergency valve repairs on the Aegis Pipeline.
Under report from commissioners Mr. Picou requested an update on the AOC Park. Mrs. Montie gave the board an update.
Under old business the board considered amending option/lease with Venture Global. The board also discussed considering appointment to Lake Charles Port Board.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried the board approved the change of the option/lease agreement name from Cameron Land Ventures, LLC to Venture Global CP2 LNG, LLC with modifications and documents approved by counsel.
There was no new business.
Beth Newton with the US Coast Guard discussed with the board debris removal in the Calcasieu Loop.
Mrs. Kim Montie gave a staff report. She updated the board on several meetings that she has coming up. She also informed them of the Leadership SWLA group tour of the parish.
The next regular meeting will be scheduled for October 24, 2023, at 5 PM at the Cameron Parish Port Building.
There being no further business and upon motion of Mrs. Miller seconded by Mr. Vincent and carried, the meeting was declared adjourned.
