The Cameron Parish Waterworks District No. 10 met in regular session at the Waterworks office located at 6246 Gulf Beach Hwy. in Johnson Bayou on Tuesday, November 9, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. Members present by roll call were Mrs. Connie Trahan, Mr. Kent Carlson, Ms. Bobbie Trahan and Mr. Mark Young. Members absent were Mr. Nathan Griffith. Employees attending were Rhonda Morrison, Carl Trahan, Jeff Landry, and Aaron Jinks. Guest attending were none.
It was moved by Mrs. Trahan to call the meeting to order.
The pledge was said by all present and the prayer was led by Mrs. Trahan.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items.
It was moved by Mr. Young, seconded by Mr. Carlson and carried to accept the October minutes as read.
Fema is still in the review process on the approval of the relocation project for the Holly Beach water tower rebuild.
The annual testing of the backflow preventors was discussed. Rhonda presented the letter that will be sent to the customers for the DHH required annual testing in January. It was moved by Mr. Young, seconded by Ms. Bobbie Trahan and carried to approve and mail the letter to the customers advising of the decreased price obtained for bulk testing.
It was moved by Ms. Bobbie Trahan, seconded by Mr. Carlson and carried to give Aaron Jinks a $2.50 an hour raise for receiving his Class 1 Distribution on July 22, 2022 and Class 1 Treatment, Class 2 Production, and Class 2 Distribution certification on October 21, 2022 per Waterworks District No. 10 certification policy. Mr. Young abstained from voting.
It was moved by Mr. Carlson, seconded by Mr. Young and carried to approve the bank statements and monthly financial statement.
It was moved by Mr. Carlson, seconded by Mr. Young and carried to approve the bills as paid.
With no further business to discuss, it was moved by Mrs. Trahan to adjourn the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
