Cyo Miller

Cyo Miller of Bell City, son of the late Alfred and Cecile Trahan Miller on Jan. 22, 1935, in Grand Chenier, passed away Friday, Apr. 1, 2022, at the age of 87.

Cyo was the name that everyone knew him by. He worked in the Oilfields his whole career. He raised cattle in his younger years, shrimped for the family and raised a garden. He loved to play music with his friends at family get togethers and cookouts and loved to dance every chance he could.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Audrey Theriot Miller; parents, Alfred and Cecile Miller; brothers, Wilford and Curly Miller; sister, Beula Miller Boudreaux; in-laws, Lionel, and Emma Theriot.
Cyo leaves to cherish his memory six children: Paul “Paulo” Miller of Lake Charles, Carmen Miller Dimas (David) of Grand Lake, Arlene Miller Crochet (Kent) of Lacassine, Emily Miller Mock (Jerry) of Gillis, Patsy Miller Porche of Sulphur, and Pravate Miller of Grand Chenier; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and sister, Hazel Miller Richard. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Mary “Sissy” Nunez, Beverly Salter, and Patricia Zamora.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Apr. 5, at 10 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. He was laid to rest in Chenier Perdue Cemetery next to his loving wife.

Visitation began Monday in the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. and resumed Tuesday from 8 until 10 a.m.

Pallbearers assisting in his service were Levi Miller, Landon Miller, Chris Dimas, Aaron Crochet, Mark Crochet, Garrett Mock, Nicholas Miller, Mickey Miller, and Gabe Porche.
