Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office gave the following report on an incident that happened on Monday, Apr. 13, at 6:30 a.m.:

The 18-wheeler involved was parked on the shoulder of the road due to mechanical problems. The other driver of a pickup truck apparently fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the center line and struck the parked 18-wheeler. The driver of the truck was injured and transported to the hospital.
