The Cameron Parish School Board met in regular session on Monday, Jan. 10.

There was much discussion on the COVID-19 updates and the action the school board should take. The problem of staff shortages and lack of substitute teachers was addressed. The faculty and staff are doing the best they can and will continue to follow guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Parish schools will remain open as long as it is safe for students and staff. The Spring 2022 Covid-19 Guidelines are accessible at www.camsch.org. The board voted to extend COVID leave until Monday, Feb. 28.

The school board granted out of state travel for the Grand Lake High School Student Council. They will be traveling to the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi on Friday, Jan. 14 for an educational day. Attendees will be transported by bus and a certified driver.
