Connie Carson

Connie Rae LaBove McCain Carson, 72, of Ragley died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024 in a local hospice facility.

She was born in Lake Charles and was a resident of Ragley for the past 19 years. She went to Grand Lake High School, attended Sowela Tech where she took a secretarial course, and then joined the firm of MQB in January of 1978. She was the tax secretary for 21 years until she married and moved to Crosby, Texas in 1999. Five years later she moved back to Louisiana and rejoined the firm in January of 2004. Resuming her previous job as tax secretary, she retired in May of 2018 but returned to work part time. She attended St. Margaret Catholic Church, serving as an usher for 18 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Waybern and Velta Hebert LaBove.

Survivors are her husband, Charles Thomas “Tommy” Carson; children, Lucas McCain (Angela), Travis McCain (Nikki), Jake McCain (Kelly),Troy Carson, and T.K. Cooper (Roger); seven grandsons, two granddaughters, two sisters, Diana Boerema and Vickie Monceaux; two brothers, Rickey LaBove and John LaBove.

A funeral mass was held Saturday, Nov. 2, at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Prabhakar Kowtiki officiated. Burial followed in Grand Lake Community Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
