Funeral services for Carlos Gerald Ratcliff, 72, a resident of the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Home in Jennings, and former resident of Sulphur was held on Monday, Jan. 31, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Dale Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

He was born in Willits, Calif. He died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

He graduated from South Cameron High School in Creole, joined the Marines and was sent to VietNam. He served as a Chaplain in prison ministry.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Pruitt Ratcliff; daughter Michelle (Charles) Bertrand of Baytown, Texas; son, Glen (Monica) Ratcliff of Trinity, Texas; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry “Hank” Ratcliff and Effie Lois “Sis” Ratcliff; one brother; and one sister.
