Cameron Parish Police Jury to vote on redistricting map

Cameron Parish Police Jury met in regular session on Friday, Sept. 2.

The following appointments were made: Tammy Vincent was appointed to an open seat for the remainder of term for Cameron Water & Waste Water District No. 1.

The term for Jared Desormeaux, Fire Protection District No. 9 is expired. The term for Ryan Mallory, Gravity Drainage District No. 3 is expired, and the appointment was tabled for a month.

The term for Robin Morales, is expired and also tabled from last month. Gravity Drainage District No. 9 reappointed Gordon Gremillion. His name was incorrectly listed as Grant Gremillion previously.

Appointments for Hackberry Fire Protection District No. 1 are as follows: Curtis Fountain and Ricky Maddox, 2 year terms; Robert Silver, Butch Little and Gerald Landry, 3 year terms.

DeLisa LaLande and Nedia Trahan both resigned from the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District Board.

The current temporary food truck ordinance in the Village of Cameron was extended.

The Police Jury will proceed with removal of condemned properties listed in Batch 1 Demo PDPDR properties once a contractor is procured and the contract is signed.

Owners of the following properties, listed in PPDR Program Batch 2, will be sent a notice of condemnation.

Home, shed and surrounding debris, 876 Big Pasture Rd., Lake Charles.

House, 4476 W Creole Hwy, Cameron.

Double wide on pilings, 131 Warren Rd., Creole.

House structure, 142 Primeaux Rd., Creole.

Double wide, 449 Bonsail Rd., Grand Chenier.

House structure and vehicle, 520 W Main St. Hackberry.

Two story structure, 118 Portie Dr., Hackberry.

A vote will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13 on a redistricting ordinance for an 8-member jury.
