Cammie Benoit, South Cameron High School’s Elementary Teacher of the Year has been chosen as the Cameron Parish Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2020-21.
This is Benoit’s 6th year teaching, but her 2nd year in Cameron Parish. She graduated from Hamilton Christian Academy in 2010, obtained her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from McNeese State University in 2014, added on the early childhood certification in 2018, and graduated from Louisiana State University Shreveport with a Masters in Educational Leadership in 2020.
She says, “I am absolutely humbled and honored to not only receive this award, but to be blessed to teach in Cameron Parish. Having taught in other school districts, I am privileged to see the impact and the difference that the Cameron Parish community, as a whole, make and instill in the students. It is truly a special place. Every day, I am overjoyed to ‘go to work’ and am pushed and inspired to engage my students and help them reach their highest potential by striving to create an exciting and fun learning environment.
