Bonnie Jean Granger, 68, of Bell City died Thursday, February 11, 2021 in a local hospital.
She was born in Lake Charles and lived all her life on family land in Grangerville of Sweetlake. She was a 1970 graduate of Grand Lake High School and furthered her education to attain a Bachelor of Science and master’s degree in education. She returned to Grand Lake High School for her 28 year tenure. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake in Big Lake where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and lector and the Chapel of St. Patrick in Sweetlake where she served the Catholic Daughters, Ladies Altar Society and Faith Renewal retreats and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
She is survived by her children, Jeffry Wayne Drounette (Jamie) of Sweetlake, John Rendy Drounette (Lori) of Lubbock, Texas and James Curtis Drounette (Angie) of Hayes; four grandchildren; and siblings, Thomas Lynn Granger, John Lee Granger, Debra Granger Ogea, Dolores Aguillard and Bryan Anthony Granger, all of Sweetlake.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roland Isaac Lonthier, Michael Rendy Drounette and Timothy Wayne Chiasson; parents, John C. and Enola Romero Granger; and one brother.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, Feb. 15, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City. Monsignor James Gaddy officiated. Interment followed in Granger Cemetery in Grangerville.
