Betty Jane Collins McCall was born in Marthaville. She died Friday, Nov. 10, 2023 in Magnolia, Texas where she was member of the Magnolia’s First Baptist Church family for 11 years.

She graduated from Northwestern Louisiana college and moved to Cameron Parish, to teach Home Economics. Following her retirement from teaching, she worked for the parish library driving the bookmobile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Foster Moses Collins and Ruby Geraldine Middleton Collins; husband, Lynn McCall; and two sons, Joe Lynn McCall and Jeff Robert McCall; one sister, Bobbye Nunez; and one brother, Bill Collins.

She is survived by her children, Jamie Lou McCall of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Jean Ellen McCall of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Thomas Foster McCall of Magnolia, Texas, Ruby Marie McCall of Alexander, North Carolina; sister, Judy Nichols of Lafayette; and two grandchildren.

Her funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 18, in the Chapel of Peace at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Rev. Jeff Williams officiated and burial followed in McCall Cemetery in Grand Chenier.
