Austin Joseph Breaux, 92, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital. He was born in Lake Charles. He was a longtime resident of the south Lake Charles area and resided in Black Bayou for many years.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After the war, he became a mechanic and retired from PPG Industries after many years of employment.
Suvivors are his children, Elaine and Michael Broussard of Woodbury, Tenn., Lionell and Mendy Breaux of Tomkinville, Ky., Lydell Breaux of Gainesboro, Tenn., Twila and Kenneth McFarland of Lake Charles; sisters; Elsie Breaux of Lake Charles, and Ada Aguillard of Grand Lake; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lannye and Amy Breaux; his first wife, Dorothy Lee Lormand-Breaux; second wife; Gertrude Chaisson; son, Randy J. Breaux, and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 7, at Johnson Funeral Home. Officiating were Rev. Rick Treece and Rev. Michael McFarland. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.
