Cameron Parish Recreation District 5 held its regularly scheduled meeting on March 16, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
Board President Tremayne Picou called the meeting to order and on roll call the following members were present: Thomas Cox and Kayla Conner
Absent: Brett Bellard and Jacob Babcock
Employees in attendance were Lisa Ledano.
Guests in attendance: none
Minutes of the previous meeting, February 16, 2023, were distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Thomas Cox made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Kayla Conner seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
Old Business:
•Public Comment – time was allowed for public comment prior to voting on all agenda items.
•24 hour access – Thomas Cox made a motion to table the matter. Kayla Conner seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
•Security Cameras – Thomas Cox made a motion to table the matter. Kayla Conner seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
•Vending Machine – Kayla Conner made a motion to table the matter. Thomas Cox seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
•Membership Contracts – Kayla Conner made a motion to table the matter. Thomas Cox seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
•Various options for membership payment – Thomas Cox made a motion to table the matter. Kayla Conner seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
New Business:
•Public Comment – time was allowed for public comment prior to voting on all agenda items.
•Adopt the 2023 tax millage – The resolution to adopt the 2023 maintenance millage at 4.120 mills was read aloud and upon completion of the reading of the resolution the board members in attendance voted to adopt the millage as follows: Tremayne Picou – yea, Thomas Cox – yea, Kayla Conner – yea. Official vote was 3 yeas, 0 nays, 0 abstained, 2 absent. Public comment: none.
The board members present reviewed the invoices for the month of February 2023. Kayla Conner made a motion to approve the bills. Thomas Cox seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
The treasurer’s report for the month of February 2023 was distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Thomas Cox made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as presented. Kayla Conner seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
With no further business to discuss, Kayla Conner made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Thomas Cox seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
