BOARD MEETING
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Delia Sanders, Tammy Peshoff, and Paul Sellers
FIREMEN PRESENT: Tim Dupont, Clarence “Cookie” Dyson, Jr III, and Jennifer Jones
OTHERS PRESENT:
The meeting was called to order at 5:32 p.m. and the pledge was led by Paul. On a motion by Tammy, seconded by Paul and unanimously approved, the minutes from the December 19, 2019 meeting were approved.
On a motion by Paul, seconded by Tammy and unanimously approved, the financial report was accepted. Jennifer Jones will ask the Police Jury if the 2019 budget needs to be amended and report back to the board.
Chief Dupont reported that Ben said that to convert the Gator to tracks would be about $2500 and would not work for what was needed. He suggested getting 28-inch tires to raise the Gator.
On a motion by Paul, seconded by Tammy and unanimously approved, the board voted to purchase and install 28-inch tires on the Gator.
Fire hydrant education/training was conducted.
Chief talked about the waterworks getting the fire hydrants sand blasted and painted soon. If the fire department puts color coded tape on the hydrants before that, it would be a waste. Fire hydrants also need to be numbered after they are painted. Tammy volunteered to make the numbers for the hydrants. Jennifer will write a letter to Venture Global to recover the missing fire hydrants they removed when doing their construction work near the Jetties.
Fire Fighter #1 Certifications- “Cookie” and Tim discussed getting a trainer to come down to train volunteers for Fire Fighter #1 certification. Cookie will be talking with CERTC (Calcasieu Emergency Response Training Center) about who is qualified to teach the class. It was mentioned that Venture Global might pay for an instructor if asked.
On a motion by Tammy, seconded by Paul and unanimously approved, the board meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
