The Cameron Parish School Board met on Monday, Feb. 7.

The board approved necessary action on Industrial Tax Exemption Applications #20210532-ITE and #20210516-ITE.

Representatives from Venture Global were in attendance and recognized.

The Board received current construction activities report from James Hoffpauir, Project Manager. Project out for bid/quote is Hackberry High School’s Vo-Ag – demolition and rebuild. Bids are to be received by Feb. 10.

Approval by the Board was given on the Fall 2022-23 Cameron Parish School Board District Calendar, presented by Charley Lemons, Superintendent. They opted for a fall break option.

Contract renewals were approved on Johnson Bayou High School Principal Lisa Liburd and Johnson Bayou High School Assistant Principal Valerie Murphy.

Superintendent Lemons gave a Covid-19 update, indicating that they are headed in the right direction. They are doing some comparisons with surrounding school districts. Safety of the students and staff remain the highest priority.
