19th Annual Tree Seedling Sale is Jan. 27th-31st

The 19th Annual Tree Seedling Sale, hosted by the Gulf Coast Soil & Water Conservation, will be the week of Monday through Friday, Jan. 27-31.

The Grand Lake FFA members will be there on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 27-28, to assist with the tree seedling sale. Hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Lake Charles USDA Center, located at 5417 Gerstner Memorial Dr.

The District, in association with NRCS and the Grand Lake FFA Chapter, announced that this year they have 4,100 seedlings of 19 different species. Hardwood and fruit seedlings are $2.

The following varieties are expected to be available; however, quantities are limited and no species is guaranteed to last (first come first serve):

Bald Cypress, Black Walnut, Cherrybark Oak, Crabapple, Green Ash, Hackberry, Laurel Oak, Live Oak, Mayhaw, Nuttall Oak, Overcup Oak, Persimmon, Plum, Red Maple, Red Mulberry, Sawtooth Oak, Shumard Oak, Sweet Pecan, and White Oak.

Come early for the best selection. Only cash or check payments accepted.
