William Logan “Buddy” Perkins, 94, died Saturday, July 6, 2024.
He was born in Sulphur. He was a lifelong resident of the Lake Charles/Sulphur area. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1947 and went on to study at McNeese State University. He retired twice from Cities Service Refinery after 33 years of service. He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Louisiana Masons Grand Lodge (60 years), and the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.
He was a member of Sale Street Baptist Church and St. Luke Simpson Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Lake Charles Country Club.
Survivors are his children, Travis L. Perkins of Hackberry, Jeffrie L. Duberville (Don) of Sulphur, Lacie A. Perkins (Francia Chaisson) of Longville, Mitchell Francis Perkins (Nok) of Bridge City, Texas, his stepdaughter, Cheryl Clancy of Jacksonville, Fla., 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Mitchell (W.M.) and Maurina Young Perkins; and his sister, Gloria Marie Rupp.
A celebration of his life was held Sunday, July 14, in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel. Burial followed in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
