On Thursday, Sept. 16, the Cameron Parish Police jury will hold three meetings. The agenda meeting at 10 a.m. will feature a presentation by Ralph Libersat, President of the Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority, about the proposed constitutional amendment which would allow changes to the taxing authority of levee districts, including the CPCRPA. A Board of Review will be held at 1 p.m., to hear objections to tax assessments and accept the 2021 tax roll.
The voting meeting will be held at 2 p.m. That agenda includes abandoning a 3.07 acre right-of-way, accepting insurance quotes, and advertising for bids on materials, as well as several permits and other business. More items will likely be added before next week.
