South Cameron Students of Year named

South Cameron Students of the Year for 2021-22 have been named.

They are listed here by grade.

South Cameron High School Student of the Year is 12th Grader Ceyanna Brown. She is the daughter of Kasey Brown and is a Banner Roll student at SCHS. For the past year, she has been enrolled in Duel Enrollment classes at SOWELA earning her numerous college credits. Brown is actively involved in National Honor Society, Sr. BETA, FBLA, and 4-H. She is currently president of Sr. 4-H, vice president of her senior class, and treasurer for Jr. Leaders. She is a member of the Lady Tarpon Softball Team and is T-Boy the Tarpon Mascot. As a livestock exhibitor, she attends numerous shows for her cattle and rabbits and has won many awards. After graduation, Brown plans to attend McNeese State University.

South Cameron Middle Student of the Year is 8th Grader Libby Baccigalopi. She is the daughter of Brett and Lauren Baccigalopi and is a Banner Roll student at SCHS. She is actively involved in 4-H, Jr. Beta, FFA, and Talented Art. Baccigalopi was a manager for the Lady Tarpon Basketball and Track teams last year and is currently a member of the Track team this year. She is a livestock exhibitor proudly showing cattle and swine at numerous livestock shows across several states where she has won many showmanship and grand champion awards.

South Cameron Elementary Student of the Year is 5th Grader Rylee Bourriaque. She is the daughter of Ryan and Megan Bourriaque and is a Banner Roll student at SCHS. She is actively involved in Jr. Beta, Talented Art, and 4-H where she thoroughly enjoys showing livestock and participating in 4-H competitions. Bourriaque is a member of the middle school girls’ basketball and softball teams. She is currently the 2020 Little Miss Cameron Parish.

These three students are very honored and proud to be representing SCHS for Student of the Year.
