Sheriff Ron Johnson has announced that he is rolling back the Sheriff’s Department 2020 ad valorem tax millages at total of 1.59 mills. He said he is able to make this adjustment due to the increased property valuations in the parish, largely due to two LNG projects coming on the tax rolls. The Sheriff’s Office will levy three taxes, totaling 23.7 mills for 2020.
