Cameron Parish School Board met on Monday, June 13, for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting.
Superintendent Charley Lemons and School Board member Randall Faulk were absent. Stephanie Rogers, Associate Superintendent stood in for Lemons.
Mike Cassidy, with the District Attorney’s office, discussed land issues and they are awaiting appraisals and surveys to compare values on an exchange of Lacassine property, located near Sabine National Refuge.
The School Board members unanimously voted to adopting a resolution providing for the employment of special legal counsel, for the purpose of investigating and filing suit on Hurricane damages from storms Laura/Delta. Mudd, Bruchhaus & Keating Law Firm will be retained.
James Hoffpauir, Project Management, highlighted bid/quotes for April-May:
South Cameron High School – Various Final Restoration Repairs – Miscellaneous Repairs to Athletic Field Structures (stadium, light poles, bleachers, press box, green house, etc.)
South Cameron High School New Gym Complex – Preliminary floor plan updated. Out for bid beginning of December 2022.
Hoffpauir indicated projects out for bid/quotes:
Johnson Bayou High School- Restoration Repair Phase II- Bids to be received on Thursday, June 23, at 3 p.m.
South Cameron High School Track and Field Event Repairs – Bids to be received on Thursday, June 16, at 2 p.m.
The School Board members approved the following quotes to be accepted:
Continental Flooring Company, as low bidder at a cost of $108,888 for the New Corridor Flooring at South Cameron High School.
Alfred Palma LLC, as low bidder at a cost of $2,529,000 for the Grand Lake High School Miscellaneous Campus Repairs.
