School board meeting report

Cameron Parish School Board met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Mar. 10, at 510 Marshall St. in Cameron.

School Board Members in attendance were: Marsha Trahan, Dist. 1; Christi LaBove, Dist. 2; Mitchell Kelley, Dist. 4; Vickie Kiffe, Dist. 5; Telesha Bertrand, Dist. 3; and Randall Faulk, Dist. 8. Absent Board Members were: Sharon Picou, Dist. 6 and Joseph Delcambre, Dist. 7.

Meeting was called to order; the Prayer and Pledge were conducted.

Motions carried to approve the agenda as well as to approve the board minutes of the Feb. 10, 2025 regular meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board.

Motion carried to Authorize payment of the bills.

Motion carried to authorize payment by NGPL for Damages to Lessee -Section 16 T12S R6W.

Motion carried to approve advertising notice for bids regarding the alligator collection on the east
side of the parish.

Motion carried approving the annual continued employment resolution pursuant to ACT 745 of 1977 Louisiana Legislature providing that a support and substitute employee shall have the same probability for employment after the 2022 summer vacation period or another holiday, as the support and substitute employee had prior to the beginning of the vacation period.

Motion carried to accept Option 1 as presented by Superintendent Charley Lemons of the 2025-26 Cameron Parish School Board District Calendar.

Motion carried for adjournment of the meeting.
