PUBLIC NOTICE

The Cameron Parish Police Jury will consider amending the Cameron Parish Code of Ordinances, Chapter 15 – Offences and Miscellaneous Provisions. A public hearing will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Cameron Parish West Annex Board Room, located at 148 Smith Circle, Cameron, LA, to consider any public comment. Any written comments must be received by Monday October 5, 2026, by 2pm and these may be emailed to Mary Carroll at mcarroll@cameronpj.org, or mailed to the Cameron Police Jury Office Attn: Mary Carroll at PO Box 1280, Cameron, LA 70631.

The following states the proposed ordinance revision to be considered for adoption:

Chapter 15 – OFFENCES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS

ARTICLE III – DISTRUBING THE PEACE

SEC. 15.34 – VIOLATION

Any person shall be in violation of this article

REMOVE: if two (2) witnesses, not in the same household, but in the immediate neighborhood, complain and sign statements, describing the activity

ADD: upon the written statement of two (2) witnesses, or upon investigation by the sheriff or his deputies.
