Ruby Marie Dupuie Nunez, 90, died on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021.

She was born in Grand Chenier. She was the lunchroom manager for nearly 20 years at Grand Chenier Elementary School. She was also a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church and an American Axillary member.

She is survived her children, Howard H. Dupuie, Jr., Patricia “Pat” Dupuie Cogar (John), D.A. Dupuie (Analee), and Lena Dupuie; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Lucille Lemaire, Mary Ann Stelly, Betty Ann Guidry, and Wilfred Swire.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delma and Edia Swire; first husband, Howard Dupuie, Sr.; second husband, Kenneth Paul Nunez; five siblings; and great granddaughter, Alyson Breaux.

Her funeral service was held at The Vineyard of Lake Charles Monday, Dec. 27. The Very Reverend Rojo Koonathan officiated. Burial took place at St. Eugene Catholic Cemetery in Grand Chenier.
