Parish offices dismiss non-essential personnel

With the order from Gov. John Bel Edwards for all Louisianans to practice Stay-at-home protocols, changes have been made in Cameron Parish agencies’ operations. According to Cameron Parish Administrator Katie Armentor, as of 5 pm Monday, March 23, all Parish offices dismissed non-essential personnel and remain closed to the public. All staff is answering work calls and emails to conduct parish business for development and construction for both residents and commercial businesses.

Staff will conduct all parish business through electronic means and will report to work only when absolutely necessary. Purchase orders can be obtained by calling 337-563-4697. The Permitting Department can be reached at 337-775-2800. For all other Parish business call the main line, 337-775-5718.

All solid waste sites will remain open, and garbage collection will continue as usual. Waterworks offices are closed, but essential services are being maintained.

The Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney, Assessor, and Judge’s Office are following the same procedures, Armentor said.
