WATERWORKS DISTRICT 2 PROCEEDINGS
September 11, 2024
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 6:00pm, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Hackberry Waterworks Office.
PRESENT: Mr. Mark Trahan, Mr. Brad Hinton, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Mike Welch, Mr. Jeff Moore
Employees present: Mr. Glenn Welch, Mrs. Becky Gray, Mr. Charles Seay, and Mrs. Shaun Kyle
The meeting was called to order by Board President Mark Trahan who also led the pledge and prayer.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the minutes from the August 14, 2024 meeting were approved.
Updates on the new ground storage tank: Mitch Thomas with K&M Project services will be sending plans to the Louisiana Dept. of Health for approval next week. The Board asked Mitch to find out why the cement ring is necessary and if any other tanks in the parish used the same type construction.
The Board reviewed the backflow inspection results from Brad Williams Plumbing and decided to conduct inspections the same way in 2025.
Monthly Operator updates were presented by Glenn Welch, Becky Gray, and Charlie Seay. Hurricane preparations have been completed for the storm predicted to make landfall soon within our area. The wellsite monitoring system will be installed on the PLCs at the wellsites. Becky, Charlie, and Shaun will be attending class in Ruston next week and are registered to take their Class 2 Water Certifications Tests.
The monthly updates and financial reports including the Actual vs Budget Report for the month ending August 31, 2024 were presented by Shaun Kyle.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Mike Welch and carried unanimously, the financial reports were accepted and all bills were approved for payment.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 6:00 pm.
There being no further business, on motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
