PROCEEDINGS
September 14, 2022
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Mark Trahan, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Mike Welch, Mr. Brad Hinton
Employees present: Mr. Glenn Welch, Mr. Dalton Nunez, and Mrs. Shaun Kyle
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, the minutes from the August 10th, 2022 meeting were approved.
Maguire Iron was chosen as the lowest quoted price to repair and clean out the ground storage tank at wellsite #3 with the stipulation they change the wording of the contract by removing the additional day pricing.
Monthly Operator updates were presented by Glenn Welch and Dalton Nunez. The PLC had to be repaired at wellsite #2 and the motor at wellsite #3 has a vibration and the Griner company has been contacted to look at the motor. The hydrant at the fire station will be rebuilt. Two flush valves had to be replaced due to leaks.
On motion of Mark Trahan, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the 2006 Gravely mower was donated to the Fire Department.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, the 250 gallons of excess diesel fuel received from FEMA after hurricane Laura will be donated to the Drainage Board to be used in their tractor.
The monthly updates and Financial Reports including the Actual vs Budget Report for the month ending August 31, 2022 were presented by Shaun Kyle. Backflow preventer inspections have been completed by A2Z Water Services and the charges will be on the September water bills.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Brad Hinton and carried unanimously, the financial reports were accepted and all bills were approved for payment.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
There being no further business, on motion of Mark Trahan, seconded by Brad Hinton and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
