MINUTES OF
PROCEEDINGS
The Board of Commissioners of Lower Cameron Hospital Service District met in a Regular Session on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s office, in Cameron, Louisiana. Members present were Chairman Stephanie Rodrigue, Vice-Chairman Mary Canik, Tredale Boudreaux, Vickie Kiffe, and Shawn Bonsall. In attendance were Cameron Parish District Attorney W. Thomas Barrett, III, and Assistant District Attorney Chelsea Champagne. Guests were Sonny McGee, Scott Trahan, Mark Daigle, and Kevin Dupke.
The meeting was called to order by Stephanie Rodrigue, Chairman. A quorum was determined.
Upon motion by Vickie Kiffe, seconded by Mary Canik, the agenda was unanimously approved.
Under Public Comment, Cameron Parish Coroner Kevin Dupke, M.D., addressed the Board of Commissioners, agenda item 3.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Tredale Boudreaux, the Minutes of the September 12, 2023 Regular Meeting were unanimously approved.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Mary Canik, the Board of Commissioners received an update on insurance litigation, presented by Cameron Parish District Attorney Tom Barrett.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Tredale Boudreaux, the Board of Commissioners unanimously authorized the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District to execute the FEMA Acknowledgment Form – Flood Insurance Policy from the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through Wright National Flood Insurance.
Upon motion by Mary Canik, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Board of Commissioners received a report update in reference to Health Unit repair and South Cameron Memorial Hospital rebuild, as prepared by Joshua Hoffpauir, Principal Architect, Hoffpauir Studio, LLC.
Upon motion by Tredale Boudreaux, seconded by Mary Canik, the Board of Commissioners received a report update in reference to health services management, as prepared by Jason Rashall, Chief Strategy Officer, Lake Charles Memorial Health System.
Upon motion by Mary Canik, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Board of Commissioners received quotes on temporary mobile units, as prepared by Gerald Bryant, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer of Lake Charles Memorial Health System.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Vickie Kiffe the financial reports were unanimously approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Upon motion by Mary Canik, seconded by Tredale Boudreaux payment of reviewed bills was unanimously approved by the Board of Commissioners. It was noted that the next regular meeting was previously scheduled for Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s Office, in Cameron, Louisiana. There was no further business, and the meeting was adjourned at 4:59 p.m.
