The Cameron Parish Tourist Commission met in regular session on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the Cameron Parish Courthouse – Judge’s Conference Room. The meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.m. with Chairman, Stephanie Rodrigue, presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ms. Boudreaux and the Prayer was led by Ms. Nunez.
Commissioners present were: Stephanie Rodrigue, Chairman; Tunie Dunaway, Vice Chairman; Carolyn Miller, Treasurer; Patty Boudreaux, Secretary; Mary Johnson; JoAnn Nunez and JoeAnn Labove.
Absent: N/A
Guests: Nicole Quinlan, CEO, TripChat
Approval of Minutes: Upon motion by Ms. Labove, seconded by Ms. Miller, and carried, the minutes of the September 15, 2022 meeting were approved as written.
Treasurer’s Report: Ms. Miller reviewed the monthly financials for September. Upon motion by Ms. Johnson, seconded by Ms. Labove, and carried, the financials were approved as presented, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part thereof.

New Business: Ms. Quinlan, CEO of TripChat, presented a proposal ahead of Old Business due to another engagement. TripChat is an App-based service which uses geo-fencing technology to guide prospective tourists traveling major highways and roadways near a specific point of entry to your location using audio billboards and photos. Three (3) pricing options were presented with 50, 30 and 20 customized Points of Interest, as well as audio welcome messages and historical markers. Upon Ms. Quinlan’s departure, and after discussions, the commissioners requested that Ms. Rodrigue obtain a price for 10 Points of Interest as well.
Old Business: Ms. Boudreaux presented an invoice for promotional items that were ordered once email consensus was obtained from commissioners. Upon motion by Ms. Nunez, seconded by Ms. Miller, and carried, the commissioners approved the ratification of the email consensus and approved the subsequent invoice.
Ms. Boudreaux will notify commissioners once she picks up the promotional items so that we can meet at the storage facility and prepare 60 or so bags for the LOS birder event in Hackberry on October 28, 2022.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., with commissioners in agreement to continue meeting at the Cameron Parish Courthouse – Judge’s Conference Room at the invitation of Judge Penelope Richard.
Upon motion by Ms. Nunez, seconded by Ms. Johnson, and carried, the meeting was adjourned at 1:59 p.m.
