Cameron Parish Mosquito Abatement District No. 1

The monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of Cameron Parish Mosquito Abatement District No. 1 was held at 6:00 p.m., April 16, 2025 at the Cameron Parish Mosquito Abatement office. Board members present were Mitchel Kelley, Marck Smythe, Thomas Cox, and James Boudreaux. Karl Styron, Robert Trahan, and Bryce Carpenter were absent. Bryce Carpenter called in by phone.
The meeting was called to order by Thomas Cox, who then asked for approval of the minutes from the last meetings, March 5, 2025. A motion was made by James Boudreaux, seconded by Mitchel Kelley, and carried that the minutes be approved as printed. A motion was made by James Boudreaux, seconded by Mitchel Kelley, and carried to approve the financial statement.
In old business. The Capital One account was discussed. The issue was tabled.
In new business the annual inspection was discussed along with the possibility of adding some equipment to the plane.
Then purchasing a helmet for contract pilot was discussed. The issue was tabled to get a legal opinion on the matter.
Then Sweetlake warehouse improvements were discussed. The matter was tabled for a future meeting.
Then purchasing a stove for the Creole barn was discussed. The matter was tabled for a future meeting.
Then the board discussed the 2025 millage which will be due by May 30
There being no further business, a motion was made by James Boudreaux, seconded by Mitchel Kelley, and carried to adjourn the meeting.
