Mudd named Grand Lake Elementary Assistant Principal

Grand Lake Elementary School’s new assistant principal is Leslea Mudd.

Mudd resides in Grand Lake with her husband, Bobby, and their children, Bailey, Marcie, and Bransyn. She enjoys spending time with her family and cheering on her kids at rodeos, football, and baseball games.

She completed her undergraduate studies in Early Childhood Education at McNeese State University. Her passion for teaching led her to spend almost two decades in the classroom, where she made a positive impact on countless young students. As she continued to grow in her career, she realized that she wanted to take on a leadership role in education. With this goal in mind, she embarked on a journey to pursue a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, eager to gain the knowledge and skills needed to inspire and guide other educators.

Mudd firmly believes that creating strong and meaningful connections with students, teachers, and the community is crucial for education. She has observed that building quality relationships helps in creating a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters personal growth and academic success. Leslea considers understanding students’ unique needs, interests, and challenges as her top priority. She is enthusiastic about continuing to work towards making GLE an inclusive space where all stakeholders feel valued and respected.
